My Trigon 190

Great tank, quick question for you - is your background one of the inside tank ones or stuck on outside? Just asking cos looks great - i have outside background and, i think because of the way the corner tanks reflect light you cant see background on one side? Have you managed to correct this somehow?

It's the Jewel backing which we siliconed to the inside, looked great until we realised we'd put the internal filter in the wrong way! Ended up having to tape a black rubbish bag behind the filter (on the outside of the tank) to fill in the gaps! oops! I'm now looking into external filters, so will have an even bigger gap to fill once the internal's removed. Oh well, live and learn.

oh ok , thanks. Wish i had realised before putting water and fish in mine!! Looks fab though - keep posting the pics :good:

Great job you have done fishbone, question if I may ? Are you sure that your gourami's are both female ? They look like males imo as I have a pair and the female is a really pale yellowish colour. Check my pics, top one is the female and bottom one is the male. :good:

Yes they are definately both female. I had a male with them but unfortunately lost him to this dreaded ulcer! his anal fins and colouring were very diferent. I have seen so many different colour variations (even among the females) that I was very careful when I picked the ones I've got. Will hopefully be getting some more next weekend, if they're all looking healthy in the lfs I use.

Well you definitely learn something new everyday. Looking really good anyway Fishbone :good:

Hay that tank looks nice :hyper:

I'm thinking about getting it as a wedding present, because an online Irish pet store is having an easter sale with everything 20% off so...for the €600 the tank would usually cost (£400 or $750) but obviously with the reduction its costing €450 which is fantastic!!

Is it tough to clean, do you find its big and can easily accomodate plenty of fish?

It's a pain in the backside to clean, I have to climb on a stool or I can't reach (glad we didn't get the 350!) It also means if I need to get anything off the bottom of the tank, I'm in up to my armpit!
It's always good when you get a deal, this tank was an ex display, hence a few scratches on the glass, but only cost £150!!!(well, not including, heater, power head and filter media)

There is loads of space for the fish, but they all seem to congregate across the front so they can see what I'm up to, especially at feeding time. I'll probably be doing some rearanging before I add the male dwarf gouramis, so they're all on an even keel over territory.

Glad you like it.
