Is that a Jack Dampsey? If it is than you should worry about it harassing your pink convict. JDs usually become VERY agressive later on.
 
That is not a JD, it could be a JD hybrid though. They are a cute couple wub.gif

It is a Texas cichlid as stated in the title of the topic. A pink convict could handle being in the same tank with a JD anyway. Convict cichlids are very aggressive, especially when breeding.
 
I don't know much about texas cichlids, so sorry, I know lots about cons though. I have bred them MANY TIMES

Edit:
WARNING, Just read something new about texas cichlids. It say the parents should be removed after spawning as they are inclined to eat their spawn. That is a quote from a handbook I have.
 
Most cichlids will eat their fry the first few times they spawn. I do believe you have 2 males though, as I don't see a black blotch in the dorsal of the texas cichlid.
