My terrible neon tetra story

HI

I went to my lfs ( pets at home ) after school today ( Im 14 years old ) and got 10 neon tetras, So I got in to the car and went home.
I did not float the bag in the water for 15 mins because there wasnt much water in the bag. so I decided just to them loose they where abit scared so they hid str8 away.I went down stairs and left them for abit
when I went and turned on my fish tank light I saw 2 of my big black widow tetras with 2 neon tetras in there mouth and I saw a small black widow with the rest of a body in his mouth.

I already had 2 and they are medium size so maybe thats why they arnt getting bullyed. the new 10 are small so I went from 12 to 8 I dont know where the other 2 are maybe eaten I am so angry.

I was fumming I was so annoyed

I think this is my fish keeping bad bit we all have it I hope I dont get it agen.

Its more likly the neons died then the black widows actualing eating them. The when they were dead the widows started to eat them.

What you need to know was the readings of the lfs water and the readings of your own tank water as to what has happened.

yeh the tempritures are differnt I dint think of that.
The fish have a 7 garantee on so I can swop 2 of them bu I have still lost £2 and 2 fish yes htey are £1 each. its a right rip off.

My nearest pets at home in wiltshire charged me £1.30 for neon tetras.
and they were minute.

Everything down here in south is expensive no matter if its same company or not but I will go in and kick some ###.

You can buy fish at 14 years old? At most of the pet shops I've been to, you have to be 16. Unless you had a parent with you, of course...

What were you up to?

Pets at Home normally guarentee only 6 fish because if you add like 10 fish some are bound to die.

Fish don't have much water in their bag because they are supposed to be bagged with much more air than water.

Of course they are going to get shocked if you just chuck them straight in, they need to adjust to the temperature.

My guppies cost me $3.50 (cdn) each. My tetras were $2.00 each. I cant beleive my goverment charges taxes on fish. Anyway i have never heard of there being an age limit on who can buy fish.

lol but where did you see you have to be 16 years old to buy fish? I was able to buy fish at all lfs no matter what age.

At our lfs, we dont sell fish to anyone under 16 unless there is a parent with them
