My Tarantula Log

Here's some pics I took of my molted giant blonde sling, it finally came out it's tunnel system. It's the larger one of my two. Molted early yesterday, doubled in size and went from a tan colour to black and it's blonde hairs are starting to show.
On another note, my molted Chaco sling is hardening back up and it's colouration went from brown to black. Nice to see it's adult colours settling in, just waiting on those yellow-gold knee patterns to develop. I'll post pics of it tomorrow.

Here's an update pick of my G.pulchripes, that molted on Monday earlier this week.

Here's pics of my freshly molted cobalt blue (H.lividum) sling, molted yesterday afternoon. Doubled in size when I first received it, went from 1/2" to 1". Blue colouration is still very hard to see, unless you use a flashlight from above while looking from under (shows through as a grey-ish blue hue). I'm guessing it's true colours will show after 1 or 2 more molts, his "toes" are blue though :)

Here are the update pics for my newly molted Costa Rican tiger rump (C.fasciatum). The legs weren't fully spread out, so I couldn't get a exact measurement on how much bigger it grew, but I'm pretty sure you guys can guestimate lol.

Sized up beside a Canadian dollar (which is the same size as 2 pence)

Totally freakin' cool!!! I'm following this topic.....

I've always had a thing for bugs and spiders! ♥♥

These are very good pics.

I congratulate you on your excellent care for these arachnids.

My nephew used to keep a couple of tarantulas, think were Redknees, not sure though, and also had a couple of grass snakes.

Absolutely fascinating creatures.

Only trouble is, my girlfriend absolutely loathes snakes and spiders otherwise would consider keeping some and even a scorpion too would be cool!

Oh well! Looks like gonna have to stick with my tropical fish for now, and maybe get a marine tank set up at some point in future!

Keep it up and keep us updated with these, especially the Avicularia, nice!

Thanks, I really appreciate that :) Wish I had a better camera though, all the pics so far were taken with just my cellphone haha.
Tarantulas are definitely quite interesting and thrilling to care for. Most people aren't fond of them (including most of my friends and family lol), but after years of caring for these marvelous creatures, I have to admit that you really develop a certain respect for them as the predators they are.
Will definitely keep this thread updated whenever I have anything new to add.

Man, you are hardcore. Hard to believe keeping invert slings in colder countries would be that much work. I salute you man. How's your c.fasciatum? I've always wanted one, maybe before this year ends i'll get a sub-adult female
