Here is all 4 tanks I'm working on, they are in my wife's classroom (she teaches kindergarten and 1st grade).

*The 55gal to the left just went through a total annihilation of almost all my fish and plants. A few months ago, I lost all my plants when the air conditioning went out and tank temps were in the 90°s for a few weeks. Then last week, 3 fish I added ate the eye's out of 21 neons, 17 harliquins (RASBORA HETEROMORPHA), 2 newts, 6 kuhli loachs, 4 horseface loaches, 7 hatchet fish, 20 neons, 13 black neons and 9 white clouds, all in one 2 days. I usually don't make it there on sundays to feed them.
The dude at pet supplies plus warehouse said it'd be O K to put these snail eating fish in with my tetras, I got them on Wednesday. Friday there were 3 dead hatchet fish, but I thought nothing of it, there a very delicate fish, just figured I'd keep on eye on the rest. Then when I returned to school Monday all those fish I just listed were killed by these snail eaters. I put those killers in the turtle tank, now there just turtle poop on the bottom of the tank.
The only fish left in my tank is one male beta, 6 red pencilfish (3 male and 3 female, picture on right), one veil tail zebra danio, and a regular zebra danio.
I plan on rebuilding the tank soon.
◦The next tank, is my 55gal turtle tank, you can see the divider on the right to give the turtle a shallow area to walk under water with a big rock to dry off on. In this picture you can see the turtle on the far right of the tank on the rock above the water.
◦Next to that is my 10gal tank with plants, it's was my female beta tank, but she died from dropsy a few months ago. Not sure what's going in there next.
◦The last tank is my 20 long. The hood broke when I dropped it while cleaning the tank, so I emptied it. As soon as I get a new hood I'll get fish for it, not sure what though.

The 10 gallon in this pic is half drained. I had it fully planted with a femail beta, but she died a couple weeks ago. I had her for almost 4 years. I think she died from dropsy.

These are some terrible pix of the second 55gal, the turtle tank

the turtle is on his rock drying off, upper right side.

The last tank is the 20 long, I have it all set up, just need the hood and to figure out what i'm going to put in it.

No, I know my oscars. I had a couple in a 55 that were about 12" long, had to give them to the local zoo, I couldn't afford to feed them.
The fish looked simular to the chinese alge eaters (Otos), and they would suck the snails out of there shells.
Took 2 days to wipe out the hundreds of snails I had in that tank, then they went on to eat the fish, at least there eyes.

Very nice tanks setups, you must be using canisters because i didnt spot any filters around?

I see HOB's ;)

How long have you had the 55 gallon on that stand? I'm shocked that it's holding up

Looks can be decieving. If a stand like that is assembled right it can hold a lot of weight.

I'm sorry to hear about your fish, and I am also curious what kind they were.

I love the plants in your 55 gallon. So simple yet amazingly effective.

You're very lucky having somewhere to put all those tanks. Bet the kids love them too.

I painted all the sides and backs of those tanks black so you can't see them through the tank

I don't know how old this stand is, I've had it for 2 years. I seems solid, there was a brace added where the lower tank would have gone. The former owner put it there cause he thought the design was a little week.

Yea, the kids do love it. They even get a thrill out of watching me clean it.

I'm going back to the store where I got them to get some more fish one of these days, I'll make sure to ask. It's in Honolulu and I'm about 30 miles from there so I don't get there much.
