What i want in my new 6ft tank, which im getting for xmas :)
1 Giraffe Nosed Catfish
1 large pleco
2 oscars
shole of Cichlids
2 parrot Cichlids

you have some really nice tanks there :good:
the first one is just a little over stocked lol are some of those fish going into the 6 footer when you get it?

i like the sounds of a 6 footer! but dont know what you mean by a shoal of cichlids. there isn't many cichlids that shoal together because a lot prefer to pair up and have babies so they form their own terratory. if you mean african cichlids (there really brightly coloured ones) then i wouldn't mix them with normal fish because the normal fish will get killed.

im also not sure what a giraffe nosed catfish is either  lol
ive never kept oscars before so i wouldn't know whether or not they are compatible with the tank size or wish list but i do know they get pretty large... same with the pleco. ive kept some of those in the past and they do get extremely large and make a lot of mess but if you feel you can keep up with that, im pretty sure 6ft is a good sized tank for them :good:

welcome to the forum btw :fun:

looks great, i wanna see this 6 footer lol...i know the oscars will be fine in that large of a tank, but i'm not sure how compatible they are with their theorized mates...good luck non the less

my uncle used to have oscars :)
ermm they were a shole in the fish shop, well a mum & dad & about 4/5 babies which were the same size of them.
a Giraffe Nosed Catfish will grow to 2& a half foot. but a beautiful fish :)
and i have asked the fish shop that i go in regulary as i have snakes and need to get snake food, he said that i can get those fish & they will get long very well :)

ohhh! you mean a giraffe catfish... i personally wouldn't consider it. it is a lovely looking fish but they belong is specialist's tanks/ponds that are like 6 x 6 x 3 foot at minimum. don't mean to be a bummer but i think its the wrong choice.

thats not a shoal of cichlids, thats a pair with babies lol you could try something angels.

hi nice tank but overstocked,,, if your planning on cichlids then, nearer the time go on goole and search search search, come in the new world section, post tank dimentions and people who keep cichlids will be able to reccomend what to get, i have had lots of deaths and voilence so airing my wisdom  more like stupidity of not listening, just search my posts if you dont beleive me,,,,
you see the cichlids below, they were best buddys for 1.5years now the jag called brutis will not let anyone in his tank, not even my hand
