My Tank,

My 20 Gallon tank has been setup for about 2 weeks now! Just wondered what you lot thought about my stocking?And any tips you could give on these fish?


5 x Julli Cory
1 x Bulldog Plec
5 x Bloodfin Tetra
2 x Male Guppy
2 x Pearl Gourami
1 x Black Sailfin Molly
3 x Oto
5 x Algae Shrimp

looks good, how long was this tank set up 2 weeks? and you added all these fish?

Sorry meant all them fish have been in there all together about 2 weeks now.

nice, but you should have waited for the tank to mature to add the ottos so they had some algae to eat

just making sure because if you added all those fish within a week or so, you will have an amonia spike, then nitrite spike and poisening all your fish.

Did you fishless cycle your tank as per the add & wait method from the link in my sig. before adding any of your fish. Or have you added mature filter media to your new filter. Otherwise you may be heading for trouble.

In terms of what you have stocked. I'd like to see more guppies as 2 males will undoubtedly fighting and nip at each other. Really you want 5 minimum and even then you might have problems. Also, the black sailfin molly may not do well in your setup but it depends how it's been bred and kept. In the wild they are brackish and if kept and bred as such do poorly in a freshwater tank. However, if bred and kept in freshwater its whole life it may well be fine. I tend to find they do better and live longer in brackish conditions.
