My Tank

well this is what my rtank is so far, im gnna need suggestions o lighting, its 55 US gallons 48'' in width


Tank 55 USA gallons

Filtration Regular tetra whisper for a 55 gallon

Lighting utter garbage, only 2 19W bulbs!

CO2 hagen natural plant growth

Substrate Flourite, 1 bag spread to needed areas

Fertilisation Seachem Flourish 1 cap every 2 days, Iron 1 cap every 2 days

Water chemistry 6.8-7.2ph nitrite 0 nitrate - 40 ammonia - 0 temp 75F-80F

Maintenance 25% once a week, siphon gravel once a week before water change

Fish 4 otto cats (unknown), 1rosy barb(male), 2ble gourami (1 male, 1 female) 1 gold gourami ( female), 3 gold barbs (2 female, 1 male) 1 rams horn snail (unknown)

Plants 2 Aniubus Barteri , 1Wysteria, 2 Java Fern, 2 types of grass, last few a pretty much unknown

Decor 1 drifwood, 2 stones

Additional comments has had minor plant growth when first introduced to tank, now slowing down , i think its due to lack of lighting......

ig uess no one likes my tank and me :9 im never getting help on these things, , please help? i dont want this invesment going down the drain, i canceleed the ebay order for the light fixutre on time on count of the fact that someone said it sukd...



im slowly gnna add more plants but need lighting, id do it all at once but im 15, im not rolling in cash

hehe. dude. stick ur camera on something stable and take the pics. or increase the shutter speed. that will stop the blurriness.


sounds like ur doing good to me mate! maybe get some better lighting and a few more plants in there and you will be set!

yay someone replied, what kinda lighting tho? ive been looking for over a month, it gets so frustrating, i should prolly do something with the cam, lol, those pics are horrible

limited to your options if your strapped for cash tho.

T5 are good. u can just get some higher wattage flouros that will fit into your lighting setup tho.

that does look good, it doesnt ship to US tho my budget on the lighting is up to 150$ US dollars

6400k is better than 1200k or vice versa?

its the colour spectrum

6400k is closer to daylight. i dont quite understand it all cos as on that light u will get 2x65W Daylight 12000K.

it will be bright as hell. my lights are 10000k

brighter than a 7/11 after a big night out.

lol so the 6400 should be perfect

it actually comes with 2x 12,000 lol so thats 24,000 other 2 are Actinic Blue
