im currently trying to persuade the other half to let me build a proper stand for the 4 footer (its currently spread over 3 ikea tables with ply over the top to ensure the tank is on a flat surface) with my plans to just use 18mm mela board that will match the 15mm hood i made a while back to copy the design of a shop product.
She has always not been convinced with the safety of this though, but I think i will show her this. I'd personally move the legs to being under the top brace, but i think i will then clad it in the 15mm board to give it a purrfect finish. and it then gives me a good hidey hole for the ebay cheapo external filter, or the eheim 2224, whichever santa can afford to buy me.
