Hi all,

I have not kept fish for about 9 years so this is my first effort for a while.

The tank is a Juwel Trigon 190
PH at present is about 6.8
Temp is higher than normal due the the fishless Cycle.

There are no fish at present as the tank is a week or so from cycling. I plan to have a mix of 10 x Cardinals, 2 x Rams (male and female), 6 x Corys and maybe 10 x Rummy Nose Tetras. Any opinions, good or bad, are welcome!

Beautiful, really natural look. What is the background you've used?

Ditch the Rams, get a small group of Apistogramma, i found them to be far more entertaining and also less nippy than Rams in the past.

Just had a quick look, they look stunning but there are so many different types. Any recommendations?

Apistogramma cacatuoides are probably the most common ones available, but you can also find others like Macmasteri and Agazzi...they are all much of a muchess in terms of temprement. The only exceptions from what ive heard are Viejita which are apparently territorial.

Thanks :good:

love the aquascaping and the background they are nice tanks ive got one myself

Beautiful natural looking tank, well done. :good:

i was also gonna say why not go for some apistos instead of the rams. i've found rams to be alot more pickier with water chemistry where as apistos can tend to be pretty much bulletproof. it all depends on availablity though. rams also tend to be alot more available that apistos.
A. cacatuoides is that best :shifty: lol i love the yellow variety!

Thanks for all the feedback! I may eventually add CO2 to the tank once Im happy that the water chemistry is stable and maybe change the one light tube for a 5000+ Kelvin tube as some of the plants are shooting for the light at the moment. I think I may get some Apisto instead of the Rams :good:
