i have a juwel rio 240 litre.i have a fluval 405 external filter on it and here is my future stocklist which i will build up over time.

20 x neon tetras
4 x panda corys
2 x keyhole cichlid
1 x pearl gourami
but im not sure what else?? any ideas

The pandas would be much, much happier in a larger group and you have plenty of room, so I'd have eight or a dozen :good:

A larger shoal of neons would look fantastic; I've got 42 green neons in one of my tanks and they're lovely in a huge group like that.

I've got hatchetfish with my neons, or maybe a pair of gouramis of some kind?

OK WELL HERES SOME MORE FISH TO MY STOCKLIST. HOW DOES IT SOUND??

MALE BETA
25 X NEON TETRA
6 X PANDA CORY
2 X KEYHOLE CICHLIDS
2 X DWARF GOURAMI

THERE'S NO NEED TO SHOUT, DUDE! ;)

Sounds good, except that you can't keep gouramis and bettas together, you'll have to pick one or the other; the betta will think the gourmais are other bettas and will attack them :(

I can personally say that my thick lipped gourami x3 (2f 1m) are the funniest and most interesting fish I have ever seen.

How about some nice blue rainbow fish. Go young, go silver and watch the colour explode on them over the coming weeks, get at least 5 as they are just amazing to watch.

im a dudett. sorry for the caps my dog lent on the keyboard and i didnt notice till i posted it sorry.ill get the gourami.
yeah rainbow fish look great i like the ones with the yellow behind.are they good community fish? and how many an i have with the stocklist i have here.

25 x neon tetras
4 x panda corys
2 x keyhole cichlid
2 x dwarf gourami

I went blue rainbow (smaller) I got 5 to show the colours. I went thicklipped gourami (somewhat similar to honey gourami and got 3, 2 F 1 M.)

They are a happy, interesting bunch

The ones with the yellow behinds are Bosmani which IMO get a little too big for this tank as a school. But the Dwarf Neon Rainbows are great! And would work in this tank.

The rest of the stock looks great! As well as the Bolivian Rams I think you could easily consider an other pair/trio (depending on species) of dwarf cichlids such as Laetacara Dorsiger or any of the Apistos I love Apistogramma Panduro :)

Also as a nice addition maybe something like a group of spotted headstanders might work nice :) Pencil fish are always fun as well!

Wills, do you differentiate Blue - Neon Rainbows, I am not sure if there is a difference or if the internet has made me stupid

Cheers

Yeah the reason I say Dwarf Neon is because there are quite a few species of Rainbows that are blue such as the Turquoise or Lake Kubutu which again is also called Blue Rainbow - but they grow much larger and a different blue. The Dwarf Neons are a deeper blue with red/ orange fins (males red fins, females orange)
