My Sterbai's Are Mental!

I got 6 juvie sterbai's and 6 juvie trilineaus yesterday. They are very cute - only about 2cm long

The trilineaus are wondering around looking for food and generally just chillin' but the sterbai's - WOW - they are rushing about all over the place.

They are not going to the surface so I'm pretty sure they are ok - just wizzing back and forwards across the tank at about half level (obviously no-one told them they are bottom dwelllers )

The tank that they were in in the LFS was about the size of a shoe box and my tank is about 440 litres so maybe they are just trying to find the edges??

They are cute little guys tho - love 'em to bits already

I got some peppers yesterday and they're doing the same thing, although they like to swim against the filter flow!

I also got 1 sterbai and hes all lonley but hes gettin some pals!

My sterbai do that all the time. I don't know what triggers it. It occurs before water changes, after them, inbetween, various times of the day, various temperatures. Nothing seems to make sense. They're fine though. Just how they are.

Do they ever just chill or are they permanently bonkers

Oh and 2 have discovered the bubbles - they just keep going in at the bottom of the bubble column and riding it to the top then swim back down to the bottom to do it all again they must have a headache by now

Mine do chill out and hang out on the bottom of the tank and occasionally swim onto the bogwood.
