As for sizes, smallest will be Super short body albino Senegalus (my fully grown adult is 3.5" long and very fat) the biggest being Ansorgii and Congicus (rocking in at up to 100 in the wild) or Bichir Bichir "Turkana" having a max wild size possibly even bigger.
In captivity, provided the right tank 3ft could be possible with those.
