I recently treated my guppie for white spot and accidentaly left the cover of for 10-15 minutes. Then I eventualy noticed and put it back on.

About an hour or so later that day I went over to look at my fish and I looked down onto the desk on which my tank rests and my snail was crawling across it. It had escaped from the tank and was making its way to freedom! I didn't notice before because I was used to seeing the snail on the glass! Amazed I put it back in. What a cute guy. Hes OK they must be very durable.. I'm glad I found him, I can amagine waking up to find him on my face ('') all the best,

ps. edited because I cant get these damn emoticons to work. Damn virus stuffed up my computer :/

If he was in the tank with the whitespot treatment then putting him back surely condemned poor snail to death?

Or are you keeping him in another tank till the treatment is done? If its an applesnail they should rarely leave the tank, only if the water quality is really bad... :grr:

Or to breed. But it would have to be a really dumb snail to try to lay eggs with ick treatment in the tank. I had one try itself on the light once, trying to lay eggs.
