I added a siamese fighting fish to my tank over the weekend and he seems to have settled in fine. He has a little hideaway, but he doesn't seem to eat when I add fish flakes to the tank

What is best to feed these guys? Is there a particular food for them, for example something that sinks as he seems to spend most of his time at the bottom of the tank. I am at the pet store tomorrow so any help before then would be much appreciated. Don't want the fella to go hungry

try frozen brine shrip and blood worms, or hikari betta pellets.

Mine loves blood worms freeze dried I catch mine fruit flies I buy bananas just so I can have him a few if you have any of those around try catching him one of them. It is hard for bettas to eat flakes thier mouths is turned up like a frown try some betta bites but the blood worms are the best to get them to eat or the bugs they love them.

I feed nutrafin betta flake, tropical flake, frozen bloodworms and small live meal worms :D

My females love freeze dried blood worms, betta pellets (not so much love these, but still eat), and wax worm guts! They love the guts especially! :p You can try small peices of chicken or brine shrimp too! Good luck!!!

hey KRYTEN is your betta eating yet you havent posted and told us if he is eating or not and how are your platys doing you havent posted a reply on them either. I love fish and I want to know if the sick ones are any better or not. My model is if you ask for help and people give you thier advice they like to know if they are any better or not please let all of know how they are doing.

Don't feed your betta too much bloodworms, they are very fatty. Max 2-3 servings a week! Bloodworms are only meant as a snack and excessive feeding of bloodworms will make your Betta constipated

Wow this is an old thread, as poor angel lady died about 2 years ago.
Why pull an old thread up.

Alright, what kind of tank do you got him in? Is it heated, filtered? If so, then he may just be adjusting to the tank. If not, I would suggest that you get that taken care of right away. He will be more active in a heated tank.

THIS THREAD DATES BACK TO 2003.
