I used to have "some" moss in my tank with Amano shrimps and Dwarf puffers but every time the moss just kept slowly withering/disappearing. Eventually I just gave up putting more moss in. Now you mention how it looks after being stripped by SAE.... I think mine must have been stripped by the Amanos. Still, maybe my balls of string (in other tanks) need to be tied to wood in order to grow like yours
