I've had my 2 bala sharks since December and they have grown little to none. For the longest time I fed them only flakes. I'm new to this. About three weeks ago, I started feeding them bloodworm. I ussually feed them bloodworm on monday, wednesday, and friday. I feed them flakes on the other days. From what I've read, they should have grown somewhat bigger by now. What am I doing wrong?

How old are they? Maybe you bought adult ones that have reached their full size?

Give them a chance 5 months isnt very long for a fish that lives for 10 plus years, believe me soon they will be growing so fast that you wont believe your eyes, balas take about 4 to 5 years to reach full size so i dont think you have anything to worry about.

Not sure how old they were when I got them. They are about 3-4 inches now though. Thanks for information. I'll keep up my hopes that my fish won't turn into dwarfs.

try feeding more frozen foods. Mine especially like beef heart, bloodworms, and krill.
I also feed them these jumbo shrimps those may be too big for 4" balas so maybe opt for the smaller ones, but they sure love them and they float for a LONG time so its hard to overfeed.
