as u may be aware ich lives in every tank, its only when fish get stressed or ill that it will infest itself upon a fish

Ich does certainly not live in every tank, it must first be introduced by an external source in order to comtaminate a fish

Actually I heard somewhere that it does live in every tank but only infects the fish when they're stressed and as a result have a suppressed immunity... But since I can't remember where I read this, I'm not going to go saying it's fact.

ACTUALLY yes it is present in EVERY tank, the only way a fish will then be affected from it, is if it gets ill, stressed etc

if u buy a fish say,, from ur lfs that has ich, then yes its highly likely that ur fish may get infected too

but whilst its in ur tank, its laying there dormant
