My poor pup

I just spent half of last night at the emergancy clinic with Casey. Then had to go to my normal vet today for some xrays. It looks like my poor buddy's prostate. Let me tell you when he tried to tinkle last night, it was the scariest thing Iv ever seen. I guess you could say there is blood in his urine. But it looked more like there was urine in his blood if you catch my drift. There was so much blood that the vet at the vec says nothing but "wow" when I handed him the container. He said he had never seen anything like it. My bf and I are beside ourselves.

I'm sorry to hear that I hope every thing goes OK please keep us posted I never heard any thing like that before. Is he in pain?

Let me ask you, is he fixed?

My mom's American Eskimo had a small tumor in his prostate. Surgery really wasn't an option because it would leave him incompetant(sp?). Our other opyion was to have him fixed. We did and the tumor went away. Six years later, still no tumor. Apparently, the hormones were contributing to the tumor.

Thanks for the support guys. He was in a load of pain Tues. night. But seems more comfortable today. Hes still not the dog I know though. He wont even growl out the window at everything that moves. That is his favorite pastime. His pee was yellower today too where as yesterday there was nothing but blood comming out. Hes definately gonna have to be snipped. Apperantly dogs who are snipped have almost no chance of having this problem. This thing was huge in the x ray. I just hope it shrinks again when they cut him. Oh my poor baby. I will keep ya posted.

Poor little fellow I hope he gets better for you...I know what is like to lose a animal it gets to me really bad I cant sleep or nothing when anythin of mine is sick including my fish.. I have a real love when it comes to animals I guess God wanted me to take care of unwanted animals in my life... Because I cant get enough of them...I am really bad I have bought feeder guppies just to keep them from getting ate. That is the reason why I have so many of them...Please let us know if he is going to be ok...

Casey is doing much better today. He actually barked out the window at the little dog he likes to terrorize. His appetite is improving as well. We still have a long road ahead, but we are stepping in the right direction. He is going to have his surgury in 2 weeks time. We booked it while were on holidays so we can be with him 24/7 for his recovery. Thanks again for your kind words. I will let everyone know how his operation goes.
