When I came home from my vacation, one little girl that's in a split tank with another girl, was bloated. But she was using the restroom and eating fine. She was fiesty as ever. But she had this wierd lump-like growth near her tail. I figured that she was full of eggs (she looked similar to my other eggbound female) but I had no idea what the weird lump was. It's been almost a week now that I've been back and she's only gotten worse, her appetite has weaned. And she now has 2 wierd lumps. I saw her with clamped fins a couple time yesterday  .

Now the female sharing her tank seems to have missing scales and small amounts of white fuzz on her body. I'm treating them both with some stuff. :/

I just need everyone to have positive thoughts. I really don't want to lose them both. They are so sweet and fiesty. It seems like everyone has been losing fish lately (my friend had to put down two of hers) and I don't want to follow the trend. :-(

0mg I'm so sorry. I have little experience though so I would be of no help. all I can think of is that the white fuzz is probably fungus (never dealt with it myself but I've read many other posts about fungus so I know the symptoms. and and all I can think of on the big lumps would me a tumor or something. I don't think she,s full of eggs because the lump is usually right under the mouth isn't it? and all I can think of for the missing scales would be the other girl jumping to the other half of the tank and roughing her up but this is very unlikely because she would probably not jump back. I hope they're ok :(

You will need to treat with a anti internal bacterial med with the fuzz and missing scales and lumps, but the illnesses are mounting up, good luck.

Thanks for the tip. I am treating them now with internal med stuff. I have a good feeling so I think they'll pull through.

Oh, sorry to hear about your girls Elise. :-( I'd try adding some salt in addition to the other medicines. And see if you can get your hands on some Wardleys' Promethyasul, it's good stuff. I use 4 drops per gallon as a preventative when a fish is acting lethargic/sick but has no symptoms otherwise, and full dosage if it's really serious.

Hope they recover.
