This is a pic taken in late April 2004 before the plants go totally crazy and cover the surface. There are loads of goldfish in there of all sorts of colours most of which bred in the pond and survived to grow big enough so not to be eaten. They share the pond with all sorts of bugs as well as a good population of golden minnows. My fav fish is a tiger wakin that my son bought me 2 years ago along with an orange wakin. These are a type of goldfish that look really cool. ;)
Although not easily seen the pond is totally covered with a nylon black net which the plants grow through. We have a very healthy heron population and the fish would be eaten within hours if it's removed.I've even had a heron land in the garden while i've been doing pond maintenance.

that a lovely pond, love the water plants.

Thanks,it's great sitting out there in summer when there are dragonflies about and the pond is covered in waterlilies.I'll try to remember to take some close ups of my pondfish. There are some beauts in there lots of which are about 1ft in length which i've been told is fully grown for a goldfish.

very nice pond, it is very relaxing and enjoyable just sitting out near the pond wasting time. I never get bored watching fish being fish. Hope you have many years of enjoyment from your pond. B)
