My Pleco Keeps Trying To Clean My Datnoid...

That pang looks abit stunted to me ( has very large eyes I know they do normally but they seem abit more than normal)

And even if they lived together for years they're not compatable, a tiger cub will live with a dog untill it can fit the dog in its mouth

And aswell have you got a basking area for the turtle plus uv lamp?

I'm pretty sure the fish store owner buys the fish as adults and either HE stunts em or he buys em like that.
So far, I've gotten a datnoid, two perches, and this pang and they just wont FRIGGEN grow! I feed and feed and feed and NOOOOTHIIING!
And then the bicher is from someone else and he's not growing either! I just need a better fish store to open up around here.

And no i do not have a lamp yet, Like i HAVE one that i can use but its a clip on and i dont know how i'd attach it to the glass. I have a glass top, not a canopy.
I leave my window open with the straight sunlight on his dock sometimes but he almost never goes up there, sometimes in the middle of the night he does but he just sleeps up there...He never even TRYS to bask. Its really weird, i dont think they're the same as regular turtles with the whole basking thing..The sliders cant get enough basking time.

What is that in the 6th pic down

Name almost says it all for me. All hail the impending hostility of this tank.....

Shame.

??#136### are you talking about!?
All my fish are healthy, they all look gorgeous and my water is clean and they all get along?
How is it hostile? Because i buy fish that get big? Its not like I don't have a bigger tank to put them in when they grow.
You can't put these fish in a 150 as babies. You just can't. They'll be lunch in a matter of minutes. The only fish that are permanent in my 55 are my discus, my angel my perches and the pang [unless he grows which i doubt] and maybe Donnie, but idk...He seemed really skittish in the 150... All my fish are happy and healthy and FAT, so there's no hostility. You haven't even seen my fish in person or interacted with them so you don't know. #40##.

My pang is litteraly 4 inches long...Do they really get big? Hes been the saaaame exact size since we bought him, its blowing my mind that they're supposed to get big..

Yeah if there not growing it's because of two reasons Ime

1 not enough water changes so is becoming stunted

2 not feeding the right food ( not enough nutrients) as in a human could get full from eating nothing but bread but they wouldn't be healthy at all

I sea your feeding feeder fish unless you gut load them there's very little nutrients in them and the fish you have should all take pellets so you would be much better feeding a quality pellet and then you should see some growth

What's in your 150 that could eat your pang and dat?

Theres a redtail catfish whos like 26ish inches long..
Then theres a shovelnose and two eclipses but they're pretty small, its just the redtail I worry about..

Yeah thats fare enough ( but 150 is too small for a redtail or a shovelnose they both get way to big ) but you really want at least a 100 gallon for the grow out tank too but all in all you would be better off revising your stock as its not really any good for a red tail catfish alone you need a 9ft by 4ft wide by 2ft tall so it's really no good

Were gonna make a pond for him eventually....
Its gonna take a longggg time for the shovelnose to get that big, we've had em before.
The fish store gave the redtail to me for freeee!
he had 3 and he was selling them for 200$ each but he had some other big fish coming in and he needed to get rid of him.

Not fast enough to OUTGROW the 150......fast yes, but not that fast. All you need is clean water and good feeding and they're "properly" taken care of, and even then they don't grow that fast.

Yes because 150 is not that big when it comes to housing these fish

And clean water NUTRITIONAL food and they will grow quick and the 150 should last a matter of a 6 months tops when you get them from 6 inches

Wellll he's already been in there for 2 months and he hasn't grown that much and they get, carnivore pelets of some sort, usually hikari, bloodworms and goldfish that get fed a color enhancing flake so they have spirulina and crap like that in them, AND theres only 4 fish in there, they're not overfed, and the water is clean..... And there have been previous ones in that SAME tank that took a couple of years just to get a foot and a halfish so?

this whole thread is testiment as to y most of these fish should need a license to be kept
