I just looked at my pleco and he is sitting on the bottom with the front of his body on the gravel and his back part of his body is about .25" is in the air and isn't moving much. Is he just resting after having to move all over the tank all day or has he finnaly calimed a spot as his and is guarding it? Thanks for all advice in advance.

25" ???? what size is ur plec??? u didnt say it was that big in previous posts! or have u made a mistake?

No  I said .25" but never mind about that the new thing that looks weird is he kinda looks pale in some spots kinda like little white spots but very faint is just his normal color or do they act like this when the water condition isn't good enough for them?

Well u said 4 1/2 inch in a different post ! so this the same plec? and if not what size tanks have you got? you said ur biggest tank is a longgggg 20 gallon...u outta ur mind ? how on earth could u keep a 25" plec in a 20 gallon tank...plus it soundss like white spot its got...i have read nearly ALL ur posts now and it seems u dont care for your fish well enough...u need to take drastic action to get that poor plecs sorted and u say "never mind about that" in ur post Well i do mind and so should u, u have past a worry on as if it dont matter now *geez*..gotta split now cos this has really cheesed me off !

Yes its the same pleco and like before I said POINT (.)25" not 25" and I do care for my fish this isn't whitespot, whitespot is little white specks that looks like salt not white patches. ;) It's not that big of a deal if these faint spots get an more visible or bigger I'll give you a call professor.

I never said he sat in the water but I said their were small faint white patches and I am looking for a bigger tank but am limited on space since I'm living in an apartment.

YOU SAID LITTLE WHITE SPOTS!

What I meant about (.) 25" is like his tail area was sticking in the air a little. When I said that I meant little white spots not little white specks.

Durbkat... looks like some people round here cant read....

just from what i have read it makes perfect sense....

you plec is sat on the gravel with his tail end 1/4" above the gravel.... whats hard to understand about that....

that sounds normal for a plec - wait till you find him nose first in a plant with his tail pointing towards the sky :D

as for the white spots / patches, are they raised or clearly above the slime coat? is so it will probubly be white spot and you should treat ASAP with a white spot treatment. If you cant see anything raised then it is most likely just colouration but keep a close eye on it.

as for tank size... 20gal is larger than our common started life in... but either take him back or get a bigger tank by the time he gets to around 6" ;)

hope this helps.

What are your recent ammonia, nitrite and nitrates stats please?
Do the white paths look fluffy at all or just look like some slimey skin discoloration?

SOME ! people can read if its wrote properly !
