I have a 90g tank with two male platys and one female that is about to burst. I have plastic breeding trap and a net breeding trap. The last time I moved my pregnant platy to her own 10g tank and put her inside the plastic breeding trap she appeared to abort the babies. What is my best approach to maximize my surviving babies?
I have read allot and still am not sure the best approach.
I can move her to the 10g with mature media int he filter and put her in the breeding trap. Last time I did this I used 65% water from the tank she is in and 35% ro water; I was attempting to make the water a bit cleaner and one degree C lower to encourage her to give a healthy birth. This did not work... I have considered placing her in a large glass jar with some netting that would allow the babies to fit through but she could not...I would love more suggestions.
Thanks so much but hurry I think she will give birth with 24hrs....
I have a 10g ready to go and mature media to use if need be
Cheers
