Here is my 20 gallon planted, female betta community, with one swordie felame and a copper cory.... :wub:

Looks really nice. That cabomba you have seems to have filled in really nicely. I never got my cabomba to grow, and all it did was leave tiny dark leaves in my tank >_<

Cabomba likes med to strong lighting, some times it can do ok for a while but will rarely last with low lighting.

Thats a nice setup for a small tank.

I was wondering does plants up-root others?

Can it stop other plants from growing?

yes it is possible for plants to up root others, carpeting plants like glosso and other when growing out of control can simply overwhelm other plants.

with regards to plants stopping others from growing there is research on this, Plants excrete a chemical to combat other platns or algae it called allelophatic chemicals i think. Though stunted plant growth due to other plants inhabiting the tank is really uncommon.
