 Wow! Looks great. Has been relatively problem free too hasnt it.
Really like the area where the wood is and how its shaded.
Keep up the good work :good:

Nice tank Joel - were your plants all ordered separately of your choice or did you go for a fixed 'collection'?

Very, very impressive Joel.

How do you find the discus' (disci? discuses?) in the tank? Are they plant munchers at all?

Thank you all for the kind comments.

All have been ordered from http://www.plantsalive.co.uk/
The bargin surpluss packs seem to be very good. http://www.plantsalive.co.uk/index.php?act...at&catId=19

Its a bit of luck with what you get but at the prices who cares !!

As you can see I got alot of variety regarding colours, textures and height.

Very, very impressive Joel.

These Discus dont seem to be eating the plants however even if they did they couldnt put a dent in them Lol. I get about 1cm of growth from some my plants every day !!!

I feed hem 2 - 3 times a day which seems to keep them fullish but they are always looking for more

Here is an update

Well its been a while and the tank has defiantly changed.

These pics where taken after a decent chop on the right hand side.

Sadly what I wanted to show you I cant as I have lost the picture. I did a MASSIVE chop last week, took the left hand side down to about half way and only a week on and its back at the top and taking over Lol.

Anyways, here are 3 pictures:

Wow.. very lush tank. You definitely can grow nice plants! :) As for the discus, what do you feed them? I noticed that if I feed my discus frozen raw stuff (like beefheart or bloodworms), I get algae pretty quickly. Have you notice any issues with algae after introducing the discus? Also, what's your water change routine? Thanks a ton!

Your tank looks stunning.

I have had an involuntary break of approx 3 years from planted tanks but am about to start again.

My tanks is 60"x18"x22" which I guess is similar to yours.

I'm going to be setting it up, slowly, over the next few months, just enquired about a new cabinet for it today.

Like everone else, I like the CO2 reactor, I was going to try and make my own but seeing yours I think I'll buy one the same.

Anyway, keep up whatever you're doing, it certainly looks like its working.

I feed my discus mainly frozen foods, they eat LOADS !!!

Fingers crossed I have not had much algae.

Thank you Steve. My tank is 60 x 20 x 20 so basically they hold the same volume of water. Aslong as you keep on top of water changed and add ferts religiously, you will be fine :D

If you want any help just send me a pm mate. Im no expert but I might be able to help Lol.

Thanks Joel.

I'm sure I'll have lots of questions.

I'm just at that stage of reading up about equipment, just about to be spending some money and ordering some new kit, I start a new job next week so I've got cash to spend - the delivery guys will no my address very well over the next few weeks!!!

Watch for another journal.
