Hi guys, fairly new member here on this forum, but i've had a fair few years of fish keeping experiance under my belt.

About six months ago i decided to upgrade the 3 foot tank to something bigger and so i got the 5 footer :)

And so i postponed posting any pics until i had the set up fully running and now after 6 months im ready to post my pics.
The 3 footer was completely stripped 3 months ago, and im planting it very slowly with cuttings from the other tank.
Anyway, hope everyone likes.

The 5 footer looks very nice and healthy. :good:

What lighting are you running in that pendant ?

The 5 foot has a 4foot 4x54w t5 light with 10000K globes.
Filter is an Eheim 2228 pro.
Gravel substrtate with about 3 kilos of laterite mixed in the foreground. (still havent planted the forground yet)
Homemade CO2.

:)

hats off to both of those. Look great.

What's the backing of the second tank?

Thanks guys!

They are both what you would call 'low-tech' setups really.
The homemade CO2 can be difficult to control, but havent had any issues with pH drops or anything.
pH in the tanks is about 7.2 (my tap water) and im not going to bother trying to bring it down. Once the plants acclimatize to it they grow really well. Most of the plants chosen are Anubias, Swordplant, Crypts, Val, Wysteria are all easy to grow and are now going like mad. The couple of stemmed plants that are in there originally failed and died off mostly, but i let whatever was left of them float at the top till they grew new roots and are now starting to go really well. Unfortunately some of my tetras also like to munch on them.

I will be looking at a major trim tommorow.

ps: the backing on the 3 foot is just a normal stick on the back background (must just look funny in the photo.)

pss: Is there any way i can trim the massive swordplants in the 3 footer so they grow smaller? they were originally in the 5 footer but i had to remove them as they we're just dominating it too much and it wasn't the effect i was after.

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask :)

one more pic just taken :)
