i saw my female con lay her eggs and the male fertilize them

if they hatch would nyone buy them

Congrats. :)

Start looking around at your LFS'. I started talking to one, who said no, when I first started. Now...he wants me to ekeep spawning them, and bring him the 2 batches I have.

Convicts are real easy to spawn, which is why they go in batches. Sometimes people want them, sometimes they don't. ;)

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :good: :shout: :hyper: :good:
I myself have a 6-8 inch male and a 1 and a half to 2 inch female. They are black cons. I think that balck convicts are prettier myself, but to each his/her own. If you really want your pink con to show color, feed her spectrum color enhancer( cant think of the name exactly), it is supposd to make the females, and males stomachs turn red! Congrats on the hatchings also. Mine bred for the second time in the last 3 weeks! She layed around 3 hundred eggs, and now there are 250+ fry swimming in every which way. I think it is very interesting to see the mom and dad signal to the fry, and the fry now exactly what to do! Please post pics!!!!!!!!!!!!

right now im feeding them hikari first bites then when they get little bigge i going to feed the baby size hikari cichlid gold wich has color enhancers in it i also feed that to my oscar which he loves it

Right now im feeding mine Frozen BBS( Baby Brine Shrimp). They are loveing it, and you can tell they feed, becasue their stomachs are orange!!!!!!!!!!

sounds good grimmy, but i have to ask. what are you going to raise the fry in? best to leave them with the parents but as most of us know your tanks are stoked and you have no room for more tanks. so again, what are you going to raise them in?
oh and i don't think you said how many you have yet.

about one hundred i going to put in a breeder net but they are with the parents now

You should leave them with the parents. They do better( that is what i was told by some freinds who have kept them for years). You should keep them until they show signs of breeding, then take the babies away. How big is your femael? Mine is around 1 to 2 inchs in leangth, adn i have around 250+ babies swimming around! Either your male needs practice, your feamle had a small brood, or my male has done this way to many times( probably :hyper:  ). Good Luck, and please, please, please post pic's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't worry about breeder net, honestly. I was going to do that to mine, at first...Daddy had something else in mind. He attacked my hand. It was cute and didn't hurt...so, no harm, no foul. Convicts are great parents, so you have nothing to worry about, really. I feed mine the same pellets as the adults. At first, Mom will break them up. Then, later she'll start leaving them alone, so the babies get used to getting them on their own.
