Hi Folks,

Here is a pictuire if a temple I created purely with photoshop. I would love to hear you comments on it, good and bad. And also maybe how I could improve on it, either make look more realistic or maybe the shape of it, colour etc.

I am thinbking now of a background too, I could put in a jungle scene or maybe some kind of alien planet, desert scene maybe, I dunno I am undecided. What do you guys reckon?

Oh and this is my design, I see it anywhere without my permission you get hurt lol copyright goes to me

That's very good - did you do the stone texture by hand, or use a pattern or effect? It works really well.
You've got a shadow on the stairs on the left hand side, suggesting the light is coming from above and slightly to the left - suggest you also need a shadow on the vertical wall running up the left hand side of the stairs, and to the right of the staircase? Hope this makes sense! but I'm sure you can work out what I'm trying to say!
Given the green inside and the suggestion of mossy/algae green around the cracks in the stone, a jungle (conventional or alien) background seems appropriate?

Yea, OK!.... but if you do spellcheck, you'll fall over backwards.!!

If I wanted marks on literacy I would have asked, ;). Do you have any constructive criticism, or do you just like being a smart @ss?

hi rhostog, Cheers for the comments, yeah I see what you mean about the shadow on the right hand wall on the stairs, I didn't even notice, your eyes go a bit wonky after staring at the screen for ages.

The stone effect was made by hand using various filters, I defaulted the colours I think to black and white and then used clouds and some noise filters. played around with the colour levels to. Then I made the cracks using the dodge and burn tools. Took a while but it was worth it I reckon. But so it wasn't all uniform in apearance I had to make several different pieces of stone first.

I think its superb, turn it to night, get lots of moonlight on it, do the sky more or less clear with slight touch of clouds and the light bending of the clouds to give good effect.

The side walls are cracked quite a bit, you need to make the steps a little more worn, maybe add some chips to them and bit missing off them, afterall, steps get used more than the walls ;)..

Above the door, where there is like another brick part, put some writing in it (like ancient writing)..

I think what would give a really good feel, if on the first two steps (the right), totally get rid of a bit of it and the sides, make it look like something as smashed in to it and penetrated the right wall as well.

These are juts the things what i would do, but i guess all ideas are worth considering :)

can you draw or paint that?then i would be impressed.as far as your spelling,i think you only spelled one word wrong.

All he has done is the spelling is added a i in picture, which is easily done as its right next to the u.

Hi 5teady,

Yeah a night scene would look nifty for sure, and I might put ancient trext on the stone bit too. I see what you mean as well about the steps being worn. See now I am geting alot of input, it helps to get a different perspective, cheers for the compliments :good:

dnn3: My painting is pants but I could draw it yeah with pencil but my aim was to make an entire scene purely in photoshop just to see if I had the skills to pay the bills so to speak lol.

???? whats does this refer too? bit confused

I meant the only spelling error you made was putting a extra i in picture, cos somebody commented on your spelling
