My Pearlscale Angel Is Dying

Hello all, It has been about a year since I was last here.....hope all is well, I recognize a few names!

Anyway,
my angel is bad. I am treating her in a hospital tank with maracyn 2 right now, today is the 5th day.

about 2 weeks ago she started looking like she was gaining weight, or was just needing to lay some eggs.
Her Mate died of old age(I think) about 3 months ago....so I just let it go at that.

her body is so wide and deformed it is hard to look at her.
I am not sure what dropsy is, but I am wondering if she is just constipated.
I have not seen any waste in the tank or from her since I put her in there, and she is
eating some, but not a lot.

Can constipation be treated.....and how.

when I used to be on the formus all the time it seems like someone mentioned epson salt.

Any help would be appreciated......

Start with one teaspoon per 10 gallons epsom. increase over a few days to 3 teaspoons per 10 gallons. This will fix constipation in most cases, and will help, but not cure the dropsy.

Are her scales sticking out at all? What are you feeding her and how much?

How old was her mate and how old is she?

Try some shelled peas and frozen daphnia as well to get things moving. Good luck.
