My Parents Fish Looks Really Ill

Thanks, im trying to find some that i can get delivered to the UK.

The only thing i can find is this:

Which reading the review there is is the wrong description; the description is for furanol but what you get is furanol 2.

Any ideas on whether i should get it? Or where else i can get it from?

The med fine but it will wipe the beneifical bacteria out in the filter.
So only use the med in issolation.

Its a gram neg, and gram positive med which you need.

even though there is a review on that page saying the description isnt the same med that you get? You infact get furanol 2 ?

I see there took the anitbitics out of it.
Aqua essential sold furanol but they had to stop selling it due to the law in the uk.
Antibiotics are only available throw a doctor, or vet in the uk.

I would still try the med.

Why are the anti biotics only banned in the UK? its crazy!!! Do you think they will change it in the near future?

No.
There a good reason why. They can be over used and animals build a resistance up to antibiotics.

Looks like furanol was banned so they had to change the indgredients.

Ive just checked with my local vet and they are quite happy to give me some anti biotics for my fish aslong as they can see a picture of it. Would it be better for me to get some anti biotics for my mums fish? are there any different types of anti biotics?

But if it's a tumour they won't work.
Also the antibiotics would have to be used in issolation.

Is the growth fast growing or slow growing.
You need an antibiotic that treats gram positive, and gram negative bacteria.

Is that with regards to all fish diseases that i would need anti biotics for? It came on fast but has slowed down now and started coming out the other side. The fish would be in isolation also.

ive just spoken to my vet and they have both Aureo Mycin and Baytril in stock which they could give me. However they dont have the soluable aureomycin.

You need an antibiotic you can add to the water or food.
As injections will be expensive and stressful for the fish.

Once bacteria infections advance there hard to cure.
Antibiotics can be to late.
it depends on which desease the fish has when using antibiotics.
