Took it apart today and did a semi-huge cleaning.....thought I would take a picture of it while it is sorta clear, before it goes extremely cloudy again. :(

I have no idea what to do with this stupid tank...it gets so cloudy that I can't even see into it...bacteria bloom I am sure...but for months now.

*gets ready to throw 90 off a bridge* :/

The fish don't care....or don't seem to. Just means they get to be sneakier when stealing my cookies. :sly:

That looks really lovely! You've got some fantastic rocks in there - if I were a cichlid in your tank I'd be very happy. :D

Do you have your light on for very much of the day? That can cause an algae bloom. Also make sure you're not overfeeding and that your filter is working efficiently.

Good luck, I'm sure things will work out better this time.

:) That's what I was thinking, algae bloom. Last month my 46 gallon was so cloudy that I could barely see the other side of the tank! The water had a greenish color to it, so I addd some drops that clear away algae and the was was crystal clear within a hour.

It most definitely is not algae.....and the light is only on for 8 hours a day...

As for filtration. Heh heh....at first I had only a Fluval 404 and an Emperor 280 on it....thought about the filtration....and added an Aquaclear 500 (only a sponge)....

So needless to say, the filtration is way past par. (1125 GPH)

Overfeeding? Nope. Thanks for the thoughts though.

I have added some Cycle, but I doubt it is going to work. Going to have to give in and use Pond-clear.

Ummm, I have no ideas for you. I'm thinking bacteria bloom though, like you had mentioned. No idea how to remedy that though...

Geez, aren't I helpful? :p :kana:

*gets ready to catch 90 as it falls* I WANT IT! :hyper:

Cookies? Where? :shifty:

Awww, Arashi. :) I think the cloud has become a trial and error type of situation....

Luckily I have more than enough room in the 180 to put all of the fish from the 90 into it if need be...I already pulled three of the yo-yo loaches and three of the OB peacocks, just to see if that may help.....never know. :/ I left the two monsters (Julies claimed boys) and the two original females in the 90 for now, along with all of the yellows...stripped the yellow moms and got a ton of new babies. Pictures in a new thread.

See, that's the thing. If it were a health issue to the fish, I don't think they would still be breeding, but every single female in the tank is holding. -_- (or was :p )

Cookies are in the cupboard by the way. Help yourself.

That is so freaking wierd......

*looks very puzzled and confused*

I don't know what to say.......
There MUST be something different about that tank in comparison to your others.....just HAS TO BE!!!!!

Yay! *goes to get cookie* I'm happy now. :D :p :kana:

Arashi I'll race you there. I want a 90 2. :D

lol! A 90 would be so nice. Those beautiful cichlids would be so nice... Hey Freshmike, can I just have your tank? :hyper:

Hey a girl can ask (and dream) can't she? :p

I heard a girl should never have to ask.....just point and snap fingers. :p

....errr, wait. Maybe that's men???? :X

As for the light....there is no tank in this house that is over 2 years old....everything purchased brand new, so I doubt it is the light. Although, this is the oldest tank. Still doubt it though. :/
