My orangies are here

awww, glad to see them  But...I notice the same tail down position in the males that Julie's had ,they're ok ,right? Swimming properly?

Shine a flashlight on them and you'll see big time pearlyness on the girls (and the boys too)

The boys are doing that a little, but those pictures I took almost the second I released them, so I think they were just a little disoriented. I don't want to say that they are not tail down at all, but it seems to be more resting then unintentional. Does that make sense? :dunno:

That does make sense, I'm sure they're tired :/ I walked in the betta room late last night to check on the new fry and all the orangies were sound asleep in their jars and I thought of the babies in the mail  No rest for them last night, they need a nap

Give them a day and then post update pics
(ooops, sorry if that sounded bossy -_- )

Just wanted to tell ya that my boy rested like crazy when I got him, for about 3 days. He was on the bottom almost the entire time the first day or so... I was pretty worried, but he is perfectly fine now.

Yeah, I think it's because they're so young, the shipping just does a number on them  :S Amazing little girls though  Girl Power!! :flex: :flex: :flex:

One boy is completely good now, the other is the same, maybe a little worse. I could just be catching him at bad times though. I'll keep you posted, but the one boy is doing great.

This is kinda gross, but it's the only difference I saw...the gils all had a ton of poop in their bags and the boys were spotless. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but it was something I noticed when they arrived. Maybe the boys have tummy aches? -_-

mmkay, don't feed him until he poops. This is a gross mommy discussion amongst the goils everybody  But seriously...I think you're on to something there. The turds of these little bitty fish are huge and I've had to deal with constipation with a couple of them before. They literally act like they're giving birth or something -_-

I am willing to bet money that I know which one it is too. I fed them frozen food days before the trip,no dry, for tummy reasons only. On the day OF shipping I gave them each 2 live blackworms hours before packing. While moving them into containers to take to the lfs and bag...one of the males had a pellet stuck to his lid or it was stuck to my finger, it just fell out of nowhere into his jar and before I could even get to it he gobbled it up AS I was dumping out most of his jar water. Yes, it's pretty sad when you have betta food falling out of nowhere  I figured he'd be ok, so maybe his little system needs to catch up, I'm sure he didn't digest in transit....although the girls did  Their food was live and easy though. If you DO feed him, give him frozen for now.

Might I also suggest giving him a pea? :p Or a little bit of a pea, to be exact. Defrosted, deshelled, and in tiny pieces. It has worked wonders for me with constipation - helped my little boy with his swimbladder too (at least I think so)! But like Kelly said, I wouldn't feed him yet. Wait a bit and then maybe try some pea. They love it and it's great for their little baby tummies.
