My Old Tank Is Now A Cory Tank (with Pics)

Yes, Cory labeling is notoriously incorrect.

Hopefully your little lonely guy will settle in after awhile. He may just be in shock--stressed, disoriented--by all the moving around. Give him a bit, but watch him for any signs of sickness. Stressed fish are vulnerable. Also he may have had some rough handling in the moving. He could have caught a fin in a net and hurt it, etc.

Hopefully he will be ok, hes the biggest one out of them all. 1 of them did have his fin caught in the net when they were transfer, he thrashed about a bit and freed himself so that would make sense. theres no signs of damage though so hopefully he will be ok :)

The biggest one is often the female. Does he have a bit more belly and maybe a bit of extra padding at the abdomen area? We may have to stop calling it "he."

he/she ....... "it" is the biggest and to put it bluntly if a right fatty compared with the other, theres a few with quite plump bellys but she stands out compared with the rest.

Maybe it is a she and the other 12 are males, cant blame her for hideing away if thats the case lol

It's ok, I understand the female Cory totally controls the bedroom. She releases hormones when she is ready. :>)

Fingers crossed she will feel safe and happy enough when she is settled in then :D and hopefully she is not the only female out of the 12

Some of the other "bellys" may be adolescent females!

She may have gone out for sale with a batch of younguns. In that case, I don't blame her either. Pesky chil'uns

yeah id say that she is definately from a different batch, either that or she is a really fasy grower lol. Theres a few others almost as big as her but they dont have the plump belly that she does

Those are just gorgeous

cheers  , i can sit there for ages watching them. They go from one extreme to the next with there activity..... one minute all sat on the bottom not moving, the next they group togehter and swim around the tank like a bunch of nutters lol, soooo funny to watch

Yes! They are so cute when they line up at the tank front and stare at you, a hungry little army of tail waggers.

well i shall give them a few weeks to settle in and make sure they are all happy then i shall try conditioning them and try to get them to spawn :)
