My Nooby Set Up

what have you got in there, i can see 1 guppy and a male betta, which i think you should get a new tank for, because bettas are aggressive fish, and could kill your other fish

very sad but the betta was fins up this morning >< he seemed to be doin great aswell .

its a 60ltr with

1 silver molly
1 black molly
4 guppys (2 blue and 2 yellow)
3 clown loach (look closely theres 2 of em under the log, they good at hiding)
4 baby black mollys

i had been told by the guy at the pet shop `you only need to run the tank for 24 hours before you put fish in`
and at that time i knew nothing and he was `suposedly` the expert
i now know that to be wrong after coming on this forum
just hope the rest of my fish will be ok
and yes ive phoned them and they stand by what they said

24 hours ?? THat lfs needs to come to this forum and learn a thing or two !! all they want is you too spend money, My lfs said I should wait a week, then start to add fish slowly, weekly, and not to many at a time, which is ok, but they only told me that i need to change water every 6 weeks

That's the biggest crock ive ever heard. Don't put in any more fish for at least a few weeks and when you do only add 2 /3 at a time.

I'd highly recommend fishless cycling for your next tank. Follow the add and wait method. I was a complete novice and it went fine.

I was given bad info from a pet store as well, and I'm having to cycle my tank with my poor fish in it.

The betta is the one most likely the ones to get bullied!

Don't listen to your fish shop again.
If you plan to buy or a fish or do anything to your tank i recommed you ask- I see he's sold you 3Clown loaches for a 60Ltr tank. Did you know theese can grow up to 10-13" each?

Clown loaches grow very large and are very touchy.. if the tank wasn't cycled they will probably die when the ammonia comes.
