This is Oliver, my newest companion. He's in a temporary smaller tank - just while I get the funds for a suitable sized one. Then the current tank shall be a breeding tank (possibly)

Apologies on size of photographs again. Taken with my NikonD3100. I'm quite lucky Oliver comes and says hello to me.

Oliver surveying the land. (He can't see his own reflection, don't worry. It's the angle I took the photograph at that shows the reflection.)

Nice looking fish - does he have a name?

What is his finnage? I'm still learning their fin type names etc :)

He's called Oliver :) And he's a Crowntailed Siamese Fighting Fish.

Sorry, I was doing two things at once, didnt see you already put his name up - doh!

Sure, very interesting if the male doesnt decide to kill the female after she's done her part :'P Haha, I've not actually tried, not sure I want to

:O Heck that's a bit brutal :p

Perhaps that's what interests some hobbyists then.  It sounds like a challenge.

Goodness me!  It's a small world!! I assume you're a Carnon Downs Garden Centre person for your fish if you're out that way?

Indeed! :D

Although I do pop into Trimar in Camborne, they have been a brilliant help - giving me mature media for my tank when I had an ammonia spike, and also offering to lend me a light for my plants when mine wasnt working until they ordered one in :D so would definately recommend them too!

Where do you go?

I have family out that way so the next time I'm in Camborne I'll pop in there.  I have heard good things about them.

I mainly use Black Acre Nurseries and Billy the fish.

:)

I may have to have a butchers next time I'm heading up the A30 :D always good to hear of different lfs's :)

Sorry Rei Rei back to Oliver :) - oh and would be good to see a journal when you get his larger accommodation :)

I'll do that, just need enough wages to get a slightly larger tank. I'm sure he'd prefer the extra space
