Question? I dont have any bubbles or aeration like someone mentioned above...hmm Ive asked others who said it wasnt necessary, but read the water could become stagnant without it...so what is true? Thanks!!!!!

That was me. From all that I've read, it's not necessary to have aeration (air stone, bubble wand,etc) as long as the top surface of the water is being agitated(from the pictures, it looks like you have a h.o.t. filter. I've read quite a few articles on having aeration on the tank(especially if you don't have live plants). One thing that I read multiple times is that there was a certain type of beneficial bacteria in the water that responds to converting waste better if you had some type of air stone in the tank... but then, you can't go by EVERYthing you read on the net.
as far as making the water stagnant, I don't think so. Regular water changes and and some sort of surface agitation would be good enough. Extra is always is better, though.
