The 2 bettas I rescued from the local fish abuser Walmart are now housed in their new 2.5 gallon & 5 gallon tanks. One of them is pretty active and actually ate something this morning. He is a beautiful color with a gorgeous deep red and white tail. When he fans it out, it is a pretty red/white stripe.

The other one is staying hid pretty well so it's hard to tell his colors. He didn't eat the betta bites I gave him this morning. Hopefully he will take food tonight and become a little more active.

MTS is running rampant at our house. The 75 gallon is to be delivered Friday making 5 tanks. And my wife and I just started keeping fish in December.

Hi rdd1952 :)

Good for you!

I'm always happy to learn that there is another new member that likes lovely veil tail bettas and cares enough to buy them from stores that are likely to ignore them.

Mine are plain too, but I don't think of them as "mutts." Each one is an individual with it's one distinct personality. IMHO, all living creatures deserve respect and love!

While my main interest is cory cats, my bettas bring me much joy when they come to the front of the tank looking for dinner! :D

Inch, The two new ones (Clark & Ty) haven't learned the feeding ritual yet but they will. Our other betta (Seventies) that we have had for a while, comes to the front, right corner of the tank anytime you walk in the room. He actually takes betta bites from our finger. When a finger goes in his tank, he is ready for food. I was moving something this morning and he nipped my finger, thinking it was feeding time. Good thing he isn't a piranah.
The newbies are going to be fine. The red one (Clark) is beautiful: deep red with a red & white tail. Ty still hasn't fanned his tail good enough for me to get a good look at his colors. He was definitely in the worse shape of the 2. He is starting to become more active though and is eating.

My old camera should be around there somewhere... the Canon S200. Take some pictures of them to post up here. I'm supposed to come over there this weekend to help setup the new tank, so I'll bring my laptop or a card reader to get the pics off if you can't get them downloaded.

I found the camera and the cable last night but don't have the software. I guess I can probably download it from Canon's website. They are delivering the 75 tomorrow after five.

Hi rdd1952 :)

I'll look forward to seeing them!

If you post them in the Members Aquarium Photos section, please put a link in this thread too. :D

Select Powershot S series, Powershot S200, and then when it goes to the next screen choose Drivers/Software at the top. Get the Twain driver for 95/98.

Otherwise, I'll just bring a cardreader by. Mom called and told me you went crazy buying fish again ;)
