i have just brought this 27litre aquarium
it is by lovefish which is a brand by pets at home.yes ive heard the stories about this company but i thought the tank looked pretty nice.

it has a hidden 3 stage filteration system hidden behind and a space to hide away a heater.reminds me of a mini sump.the pumps not bad either.the 27litre cost me £45 and the 13litre costs £35.

it has a removable led light unit which has 6 blue leds & 15 white.

its made from acrylic and has a removable glass lid

here are a few piccys for you all to look at.

Pretty :D

Have you planned how you're going to cycle the tanks yet? Have a look at the link in my sig for more information :)

Do you have your fish chosen yet?

thankyou.well a very nice lady on here is willing to donate some of her mature media.
i want a betta and a small shoaling fish.maybe 4/5 neons?? what do you think?

Aww, that's so kind! :)

I would think the 13l would probably be ok for a betta, though I'm no expert.

The 27 may be a little tight on swimming room for neons. Have you considered smaller species such as celestial pearl danios, ember tetras or the various microrasbora species?

well i wanted blue fish as the betta im getting has a black body with an electric blue body.
are there any small black or blue species you can think of that i could have 4 or 5 of??

I have one of these tanks myself. Only downsides to it is lack of surface movement so you may need something to add oxygen for the fish and those leds arent the greatest but will do if you just go with fish.

what do you have in yours??
yeah i dont want live plants just a few pretty fish thats all.ive given up on the big tanks due to not having the room.and decided to downsize.

i found the watersurface movement fine once i adjusted the outlet nozzle.the further i went over the maxline with water the less movement there was but on the maxline it seemed fine to me.

btw i only have the 27litre not the 13litre.i was just stating the other size they done.so i wanted a school of fish to house with the betta??

What are these "stories" you hear of?

And I think it's all glass - I thought the other was 19L not 13L?

I'd probably have a betta on it's own, with some Cherry Shrimp or Amano or something :>

I wouldn't suggest betta and shrimp together. Often leads to the betta having an expensive meal and the shrimp hiding all the time. Just a betta would probably be the best since they're lovely fish. Shrimp are amazing en mass, but they need a mature tank first.

((I dont know why I cant see any of the pictures in the OP))

Don't think there are any blue fish that I can think of that would be suitable in that sized tank I'm afraid.

Maybe just the betta? However your decor may need some rethinking as those plastic plants could easily tear a bettas fins :/

Unless you wish to just get endlers or chilli rasboras?

Cardinal tetras and neons prefer shoals of 6+ and lots of swimming space as they are very active fish - I have mine in 180 litres of water.

Depending on the temperament of your betta you could get some pygmy cories? - ensure you have somewhere they can hide just in case.

If you have your heart set on a certain betta though, maybe just go with him and make his environment the best you can :D

Here's mine in his 22 litre - to be upgraded to a 35 litre in the coming months:

They LOVE natural plants :)

Keep us posted.

Pygmy cories need to be in shoals as well though.

I really like that pic. *_*

Yeah sorry should of said that DreamertK :) oh and thanks on the pic, it's looking a lot nicer now with the plant growth :D

Pygmy cories +6 also :D

Wouldn't Amano be too big? I never knew that.
