I bought my first snake yesterday, a Leucistic rat snake.
She about 5 months old and about 18 inches long (shes really hard to mesure).
We decided to call her 'Texas' for an abvious reason.

Here are some pics of her.
Tell me what you think.

You can see her nice pure white colour. Shes not an albino, the leucistic rat snake is pure white. She will be beautiful when shes full size, about 5 ft.

Yes it does

Shes quite the character too, always trying to slither from my hand onto something that looks more fun.

I always wanted a snake and i still cant belive i have one at last.

She is feeding on frozen pinkies at the moment. And no im not using a heat rock, i have a heat mat under a piece of wood that she likes to sleep in.
She is currently in a 15 gallon tank becuase of her size. But when gets bigger, we are moving her to a 70 gallon tank that we have.

It is quite big, even for a snake. We are thinking about getting an albino corn snake to go in with her becuase a 70 gal will be big enough for 2 snakes.

70 gallon isn't that big, what are the dimensions?
Keeping 2 or more snakes together is NOT a good idea and can lead to all sorts of problems.
That's a good looking snake :good:

its not a huge tank, but it's quite big for a 5ft snake.

Yeah, don't keep them together, unless you mean putting a divider in the middle and making two vivs. :good:

When i said i would add another snake, i ment i would make the tank into 2. But, i have decided to just have Texas in there on her own.

Here is a question for other snake keepers on here, what do you decorate your snake tanks with?

I have bogwood, hollow china hides, and fake silk plants in mine. :good:

Never use heatrocks lol.
