I originally planned to get a group of ottos, but couldn't resist getting a plec.. they're so lovely!

Only managed to get a few pics before it (too young to know what sex yet) found it's favorite hiding spot under some bog wood. Now I'm gonna HAVE to get some moonlights so I can see him at night!

Pretty crap pics.. I forgot to take my camera off manual focus, so they're really blurry. I can't wait to find out whether it's a boy or a girl!!

very nice BNs, i got 2 adults myself today, and i was lucky to find them, theyre usually sold very small. Yours dont look that small, how big are they?

It's actually two pics of the same one. :) and it's pretty small right now.. about 1"

I almost went for the golden long-finned one but decided to save some ££s and get a normal one. Do you mind me asking how much you paid for an adult one?

yeah sure, they were £7.95 each.

There's an adult one in my LFS for the same (£7.95), I was tempted to get him but I've already got one male and dont want any squabbles lol.

Ouch, my brown bristlenose was £3 and the gold was £5..

Mine was only $3.99 AU, which is pretty cheap and he is about 2 inches long and quite wide.

And I have seen them sold large, for about $30AU at aqauriums, but never at big pet store chains.

All three of our cost about £3.95 each. 2 of them were about 1" and the third one was about 3" when we brought them.
Sadly we lost one of our smaller ones a couple of weeks ago. :(

Well I guess I payed average price then :) mine was £3.. the golden long-finned ones were about £10-£15, I think.

I paid £ 4.95 each for my brown ones, fully grown, but I just saw another local shop that charged £ 11- ouch! Same shop was also charging £8.00 for a bog standard veiltail betta.

Finally managed to get a couple of clearer photos! It does come out quite a lot, but then once I get my camera, it's gone. So it's nice to get him posing a bit. That was, until my Gourami got jealous and chased him off. Now THERE's a poser! :p
