The only way to tell if he is a CT or combtail is to have him flare, and see if every single ray extends of of his tail. I am just saying, that no matter how bad the equipment is or a camera, a CT or combtail is hard to mistake. Does his tail look like the picture I posted, or the lovely picture daudy posted? If not, I don't think you have a CT or combtail, just a pretty VT with splits.

If it were splits it would have to be very dep splits. Me isnt flarinf i think he has clamped fins. Let me get a better pic later today before anyone else can say ok deal no more rude comments till then!lol :D

Thats no CT...defentely a VT... -_-

Edit: Oops..I posted the same time you did, I'll be waiting for better pics :p

Sorry, but from the pis we had to base our saying he is a VT were the ones you claim aren't what he really looks like. We will give the fish benefit of the doubt, and wait for the other pics.

Ok heres new pics. This fish was not from a breeder and i just got him yesturday so dont expect im gonna get it looking buetiful right away. I had to put my vt in the tank in a cup cause my new betta almost never flared.

The middle pic is not him. I know the pics are horrible with glares and everything but oh well.

VT sorry buddy but thats no CT thats a recked up VT go ahead and breed it and im sorry if we have sounded rude but uhhh your the one who has been getting the attitude!

I don't claim to be a Betta expert (far from it) but I think that's either a Combtail or a Veiltail. The tail shape is entirely different from a Crowntail, and it doesn't have the spikes on either the top or bottom fins. (The names have escaped me :*) )

Here's a few pictures of mine, you can see the tail shape difference:

As you can see, the Veiltail has a tail that gets bigger, then slowly gets smaller. The CT's is much more rounded, and doesn't have that shape. Also note, the top and bottom fins. On the CT, it is very obviously pointy. Not so much on the VT, if at all.

So I believe your's it a VT or a Combtail. Nothing wrong with that though, he is gorgeous. :)

What a nice VT you have there.

No need to call people 'asses' because they are telling you you are wrong. Those slits in his tail WILL grow back. It is fin splitting, maybe een a touch of fin rot, it is very common in veils. A little salt will heal them up.

i can't believe you would call me an ass for stating my opinion...you should be banned...

THIS is a CT

the fin hanging down (the anal fin) proves that yours is a VT without even looking at the tail...look at the difference!
