Went to my lfs yesterday to get a couple of dwarf gouramis and was having a look around when i spotted this little guy mum said that i couldnt have it so i managed to persuade her and went to get it today. :D

He hasnt got a name yet so any suggestions welcome. Anyone know what type he is.

Tried feeding him tonight he wont touch flakes hikari baby pellets or dried blood worm what other food could i try him with. Oh and how often should i do a water change and how much. He is in a 10l tank with a sponge filter. Thanks

If you can try some live food...or frozen food they tend to gobble that up like theres no tomorrow... :) cute little guy

Tried a few frozen blood worm but he still isnt interested Maybe hes not hungry or hes still settling in to his new tank. Anyone got any name suggestions.

First things first, he is awesome!!! He is a marble VT.

It make take him a bit to settle in, if he won't touch anything, you can try live food. As in, got any stagnant pools of water with mosquito larvae in it?? Or sometimes the lfs will carry live bloodworms or baby brine shrimp. Otherwise, I'd just give him a few days.

As for names, hmmm, let's see, here's a couple that have been floating around that I like: Julius, Perk, Riley, Popper, and Dax. For your boy, the name that sticks with me is Riley or Julius.

Here's a fun site to check out for names: http://www.lowchensaustralia.com/Names.htm

some names, sure: Zeus, Hermes, Achilles, or Theseus. Or maybe cotton candy?

So marbled bettas are when they've got splotches of different colors on them right? I don't really know.

How often should i do a water change he is in a 10l tank with a sponge filter. He still wont eat anything what else could i try do they like peas if so will frozen ones be ok.

do 50% water changes 3-4 times a week you dont realy need the filter personaly id just turn it off bettas dont like them anyway
an as for names: odin, hercules, dionysus, appollo,or theseus

Usually they are given peas if they are constipated. Course, you could try and temp him with it. You have to nuke the pea and de-shell it and then give him little bits of it. Don't worry about him, give him time. My friend had a betta who she bought from the pet store and he wouldn't eat for a week and 1/2.
