The snail will create lots of waste. I had a little snail in a 10G tank and I had to pull him cuz he was making too much waste and making my fish sick.

I'd be curious too how much water that tank holds. It is a cute tank, but probably not ideal for bettas because they like to swim back and forth, then come up for air - this tank sort of seems like he'd spend all his time swimming way up to the top for air and doesn't have much swimming room.

Just my thoughts.

its 3 u.s gallons , its 18 cm accross which is bigger than most betta bowls i have seen i thought that it would be better than a bowl, its the photo that makes it look slim because it was taken in portrait and the vase is very tall

i just read you are in the uk

Its a very cute vase, however i dont think your betta is going to be happy living there

like BM has said, they like to swim around (from side to side if you get me instead of up and down) and it will take him longer to go up for air so he wont be too happy

Just my opinion anyway, give him a wide tank with plenty of room to spread his fins and somthing to play hide and seek in :kana:

edit - i cant even spell

That setup could work just fine, IF and only if, you do water changes on it rather frequently. Snails and frogs are MESSY. My frog killed my very first betta i think, (i was STUPID and kept them both in a one gal) so be careful.

you will need a thermometer to keep an eye on the temp as well. Personally, i dont think bettas should be in anything less than 4 gallons. I know a lot of people keep them in a lot less but thats my opinion. :)

Yes! you live in the UK the weather here fluctuates so much! here in Wales one day the temp was 14 degrees, and on sunday it was 31 degrees!

my one gallons are better than that. id recomend a tank that is wide and has a filter and a light.id put the frog and the snail in a seperate tank.

To add as well, bettas seem to have a good knack of jumping out so you would need a lid on it too.

Here is a thought for you...
Since i don't *think* frogs or snails really care what shape their container is, you could keep those 2 in that tank and keep it REALLY clean, and then get your betta boy another longer tank.

Doesn't everyone need an excuse for just ONE more tank?
