Okay so now I'm up to 5 bettas at my house.
This latest boy, who I think I'm gonna name Hurricane or Rip Tide, was at Walmart suffering from a severe fungal infection when my "bettas are ugly and fish are boring" husband wandered into the betta section all on his lonesome and rescued him. I was treating him with QuIck Cure and aquarium salt because thats what I had on hand and I have the before and after pics to show you how well he's doing. He was such a sad little guy too.

Goes to show you what good basic care can do for a fish. What do you guys think? He's my first marble! Do you guys think he's VT or a Delta?

WOW! What a difference! He looks stunning, it's like night and day, and in just 2 days too! Great Job! :yahoo: It's hard to tell what kind of tail type he is between the small pics and the piece missing, but I think a VT because the top and center rays are drifting downward, if he's at a full flare that is. But keep us updated on his progress and post some more pics as his tail grows out. :good:

I will! I'm loving this little guy's spirit! He's got the heart of a lion! He had more finnage when he got to me but the fungus (columnaris maybe) that he had fell off and his fins went with it :(

He's got a pretty good scar on his head right behind his gills where the scales are starting to (hopefully) grow back in. I do think it was a true fungus stemming from a wound or two he had. I wonder how he got it but at the same time I probably don't want to know.

what an astonishing difference! wow.

WOW....you've done a fantastic job :good: He looks amazing now. Just shows what some TLC can do. My first Betta was called Rip Tide :D

Thanks guys!

I'll be posting more pics soon, he keeps getting better and better, now he's got a beautiful pink iridescence all over his body. He's quick to snap up the Bio-Gold pellets I've been giving him too. I gotta pull my fingers back quick or he'll get me! :hyper:

Wow... give that hubby of yours a big ole hug for being a softy and rescuing the little guy! heh
It really is amazing what a loving home can do for these little guys. :good:
I can't wait to see more pics of him!
