Alright my new betta, whom I named Tony is my newest,I was feeding all of my fish frozen brine shrimp.Everyone loves it especially Val and my other male betta Kyle. However when I gave Tony some he`d just stare at it and not eat it.I took the shrimp out so it wouldn`t pollute. He seems to be a very healthy looking betta,is he just wary of new conditions?I heard when you bring a betta home they won`t eat sometimes for a day or two?

It is normal for a fish to sometimes not eat for a few days after coming hope, esp. if transport was stressful or your LFS fed him/her recently. He may also be unused to new foods, so it might be better to feed pellets and get him eating the shrimp when he's more settled.

Hmm,yeah the carride was a bit complicated :look: I guess I`m gonna try flakes right now

Tony didnt eat the small flake,I`ll just try again tomorrow aside from that he looks like a happy active betta :D

Most stores feed pellets, thats probably what he's used to.

I had a betta who didn't eat for over a week. However, he was suffering from health problems and was probably just too weak to swim to the surface. I had to feed him using liquid fry food; it was awful. He got better though, and while he's still nervous and doesn't eat as much as I'd like he's doing pretty well.

Hmm,tight on pellets.Really?Well I`m glad your betta`s doing well  Isn`t liquid fry food where you boil the egg and feed them the yolk?

No, this was a store bought brand of fry food in a sort of thick, gooey liquid. Worked wonders but needed frequent water changes.

I'm sure yours will eat flakes once he's all calmed and used to his surroundings ^^

Oh yeah I heard of those, they dont usually sell those I think at most places.Well yep,I`m hopin` my boy`s gonna start eatin

Hmm,he hasn`t eaten today either -_- But I put him in my 20 gall tank and put Kyle in my 5 Gall ;)
