my new arrowana has died

The people who are really at fault here are the buyers at the lfs, they should never purchase and sell fish that are really nothing but fry, after all you wouldnt buy a neon that was only slightly bigger than a speck of dust or a betta that smaller than a bloodworm would you? At 4" a arowana has only just left the males mouth (yes they are mouth brooders) and as im sure most people know the infant mortality rate in all fish is quite high, as i said before i wouldnt advise buying ANY arowana under 6" long.

:D thanks for the advice cfc i have been to a diffrent shop and he is importing a 9" silver for me it will take 2 weeks till delivery then he is keeping it in qt for a further 3weeks to settle them down so ill have one in sept sometime :D :D

:byebye: :rip: the little fellow was dead when i got home from work

i took him back too the shop i bought him from with a sample of my water
they said my water had the wrong ph(too alkiline) so i thought thats funny my tank is acidic(dicus tank ph 6.4)

they also siad my nitrates were though the roof(funny my nitrates are 0 nitrite 0.1)

so i told them to retest the water they only had enough to test my ph (low and behold it was6.4 ACIDIC)
they did not have enough left to test my nitates(i know that this test would have been doctored)

no if i did not know the specific requerments for my discus then they would have gotten away with this blatent con

:grr: i feel mad that they have tried this is it not bad enough that the fish they sold me under 24 hrs ago has died on me  then rubbing salt in by trying to con me :grr:

OH ALSO ACCRDING TO THEM I COULD NOT REPLACE IT WITH A NEW ONE AS MY WATER WILL KILL IT

they said that i needed acidic water at first (which is correct as they come from the river negro) then in the next breath said that their water was 6.8(is this neutral cos it aint acidic) so who has them in the wrong water me or them?????? :/
Maybe you need to go back and learn how to read water tests because there should be no reason for a .1 for nitrites and usually no one ever has 0 nitrates unless they are doing 90-100 percent water changes daily.

Well I can't say I would spend 2000!!! But if you have that kind of money I expect to see some very good tanks.
