Well...I had gone to Petsmart planning on getting some more frozen foods and (The story of my life) walked out with another three mouths to feed. First I went over to the small fuzzy critter section (as I always do) and fell in love with a little lavender mouse. (She's actually very light grey with pink skin that makes her look lavender) And realised, "Hey...I have a 20 gallon which is no longer watertight (and I'm too clumsy to fix it)" and so the little purple mouse and a black and white roomate came home to sit in the room with all of their new brothers and sisters (Their Betta siblings =3).

As I cheerfully marched back over to the aquatics section for a big block of frozen bloodworms something caught my eye. I peeked into the very blue water of the itty bitty cup and lo and behold: A CT Super Delta! <3 <3 I knew I couldn't have him....knew my fiancee would throw a fit (Oh yeah, I got engaged last week! lol, I love how I mentions my new pets first then my engagement.) But oh, those little fishy eyes....I balked...started to walk away....then...the fishy wiggle dance. :sly: He's a crafty one, he knew I couldn't say no to the wiggle dance. I opened the BW bag abd broke off about 3 worms. Thawed them in my fingers while balancing a box of squeakies in my other arm and stuck in my finger. He nibbled me and I knew I had to have this little, very pale looking boy.

And so with a box of mice, a bag of bloodworms, 1 gallon container, rocks, plant and a fish I stumbled up to the register. The cashier gives me an odd look and asks why I didn't get a cart...and nearly wets herself, laughing when I explain I just wanted the BWs. So, at 10:00 I pull into the driveway and unload my stuff...

I am not sure if David hasn't noticed the upage in animals or if he just doesn't want to get started on me...

As I type this I'm laughing...my 9 older betta boys are all wiggling about, begging for chow because they see me at the computer, my new fella is sitting on my computer desk wiggling about and playing in his plant, the sirority tank is doing thier thing and loving the rocks I brought back from Kentucky, the community tanks are doing their thing, the cat is harassing a twist tie, the dog is sleeping, and two mice are running about the keyboard. When am I gonna stop bringing home critters you ask? NEVER!

I'm the same way, I went to Walmart to get some food for my JD today, and ended up with 4 new otos. It's sad isn't it?

LOL, we're suckers for animals. Congrats on the otos, I can't blame you for getting them. I love Otos.

you forgot something
PICS
im dying to see your new betta boy(and the mousies!) :p

I would give pics...but I have no camera, all my spare cash goes to my pets. My Finace says that I feed my pets better than I feed him. I keep telling him of the BWs, the 9 Lives canned food, or the canned dog food look so tasty I'll be glad to give him a big plate with all of that...he never wants to take up my offer though.

I hear the same thing from my fiance! "You spend all of your money on animals, and never on anything else!" And I say, "You spend all your money on video games!" But the otos are sweet, I've been looking everywhere for them!

LOL! That is the exact argument I have with David! I think we need to get together, send our fiances off to play video games and we can love on critters. xD

I think David's just jealous of all the attention I give to my pets and the fact that they love me more than him.

I think it is the same! I try to spread my attention around, I just have too many critter cages, and fish tanks to clean!

Exactly...that and the cat is really pushy for attention. xD she's a sweetie though.

LOL, the black and white mouse and my mean femmie are playing chase around the tank. =3

Yeah, I realised what I typed made it sound like the mice were mean. :*) I was talking about a mean femme betta and the mouse. She's running laps around the outside and the betta is following her and flaring when she stops.

The mice are getting along grandly, I think that at the end of this week I shall be adding two more girls. I really want a solid black and a solid brown.

However, I was just petting the B&W and noticed a lump on her side. Mice are prone to cancer aren't they? :(

Either way I am going to try to take the best care of her that I can. She is skiddish but a good girl. Bit me when I first got her though...mouse bite=pain, betta bite=funny.

Sometimes I think my girls are leeches, they like upturning thier ornaments and when I go to fix them I get betta girls attached to my arm. They try to eat my freckles. :p

Aww, yeah your new mice sound sweet.
For me it's more like dog bite = pain, stitches, x ray, and tetanus shot.
But I love them none the less.

Aw, hope its not cancer. Tumors in females are normally on the oviaries (or something around that area), one of ours had cancer. She coped OK though, didn't seem to cause her any pain or much difficulty, she eventually died naturally. Sound very cute though, dontcha hate shops like that :D Heck, I went to buy khulis and possibly a plec, almost ended up with a lot of female bettas, a few males, some endlers, more plecs, pygmy cories and basicly anything under 4 inches max size the shops had :D
