i wouldnt put balas wiht an oscar tho, not nearly aggresive enough, but i would keep balas perioud, i dont lik em

I have kept them together before the oscar never harmed the balas once, and the balas were smaller.

Yea i think im going to go get some bogwood tommorow, i dont liek having the tank crowded with plants and decor, i liek the main focus to be on the fish.

nice tank....my baby balas would love that....theyre growing up in a 55 gallon...soon to get 125 gallon...heres what i have...

5 balas
2 dojo loaches
twig catfish(best algae eater)
whip tail catfish
3 cory cats
1 african butterfly fish( top dweller that eats crickets, my favorite)

Nice, i plan on gettin 3 or 4 balas my self but im gettin a oscar and clown loaches with it and im thinking of some other fish as well. Anyone have any suggestions?

I love those roman ruin things but cant push myself to spent 30 bucks on it, i know every body spends hundreds of dollars on their tanks but im only 15 and dont have a job. Any ways nice tank

lol, ive seen a 3 inch oscar eat 6 two inch balas in a week, so make sure the balas are big...

Im 15 too lol, i just used all the xmas money i got (a lot) and bought a 125g tank which has cost me close to $1000 for everything ive needed.

I got mine at petsmart for only 30 bucks, look around for a local one, they seem to be everywhere. If you cant find one near you they have the same one i have on their website here: http/www.petsmart.com/global/product_det...D=1106516065419

Im just fortunate and its not liek my family is rich ro anythiing eother i dunno they jus give a lot lo.. Im grateful, however its the thought that counts more than anything, and the money doesnt mean to muhc to me because my family is so close and i wuldnt trade that for all the money in the world.

I say ditch the ruins, and the blue plants. Balas would do fine in there, although I odnt doubt they will become a meal when the Oscar arrive (my Oscar devoured a gourami 4 times his size, I saw it in a big commuinity tank, thats why I picked him out )
