My Nano Reef Set-up/diary (upgraded 45g) Step-by-step

Wow yeah, really nice looking healthy and mature tank. Doin a great job :good:

Distaster struck again in my tank as my clownfish got finrot and died from it, bt this also spread to my banghai cardinal and my firefish who both also end up dieing and for once I can actually say the fish had genuinely died and had not disapeared like so many in the past :(

So due to this recent knock back back about 3weeks ago my current stock stands at: a my green chromis, my YT damsel and my royal gramma who all seem to be healthy and feeding well.

My corals any shrimps etc are all healthy and well. I bought a scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp and a a peppermint shrimp who are doing well. Think I might buy myself a new fish this coming weekend since it will have been 4weeks since my last fish had died of fin rot and there have been no traces of the disease in the tank with the remaining fish.

One tthing i am struggling with however is trying to keep my temperature down as currently it comes down to 27-28 degrees at night and then goes up to 30-31 degrees in the day... I have switched both my heaters off but this has not seemed to have done much. Does anybpdy have any suggestions...? Im trying to avoid buying a chiller as aint got the funds at the minute.

Guys does anybody have any suggestions for bringing down the temperature in the tank without buying a chiller. I believe it is my powerheads that are causing the temp to soar as I turned my main one off to feed the other day and forgot to turn it back on overnight and the temp had dropped down to 26degrees C from 29 like it normally is...

Change the powerheads maybe to Korilias, cooling fans.
Nice tank by the way, I like to see the various varieties of corals and their positioning in other folks setups.
Regards
BigC

Fans blowing on the surface and a window mount air conditioner for the room the tank is in...

Hi, just read your journal and it seems that your bad luck has come to an end *touch wood*

I really like your ref.
I think I will have on on my tank! If you don't mind me asking a few q's on it-
Where did you get it from?
Do you think it helps with your tank?
Can you store a heater in their and it will still give out ample heat?

Thanks,

Tom.

And you are sure that your night time clicking isnt just the MH cooling? :p
